Diplopia occurred in a 28-year-old healthy Thai man following the infiltration injection of lidocaine hydrochloride 2% in the area of the left maxillary canine tooth. This ocular complication might have concerned the oculomotor, trochlear, or/and abducent nerves which innervate the extrinsic ocular muscles. Fortunately this symptom disappeared within one hour as the effect of the local anesthesia wore off.

ผู้ป่วยชายไทยอายุ 28 ปี สุขภาพแข็งแรงดี มองเห็นภาพซ้อนภายหลังฉีดยาเพื่ออุดฟันเขี้ยวบนข้างซ้าย ด้วยยาชาที่มี lidocaine hydrochloride 2% อาการแทรกซ้อนนี้อาจเกิดจากยาชาไปมีผลต่อเส้นประสาทสมองคู่ที่ 3, 4 และ 6 หรือเส้นใดเส้นหนึ่ง แล้วทำให้เห็นภาพซ้อน และอาการนี้หายเป็นปกติเองภายใน 1 ชั่วโมง เมื่อยาชาหมดฤทธิ์
